SENIOR US DISTRICT JUDGE DAVID EZRA ORDERS REMOVAL OF FLOATING BARRIER ON RIO GRANDE

USA TODAY:

Gov. Greg Abbott and the state of Texas must remove — at least temporarily — the buoys placed in the Rio Grande as part of the state's effort to control the border with Mexico, a federal judge ruled Wednesday, marking a win for the Biden administration.

In his 42-page order, Senior U.S. Judge David Alan Ezra said he made the ruling after deciding that the U.S. Justice Department will "likely succeed on the merits" in the lawsuit it filed against Abbott and the state in July.

"Texas’s floating barrier is an obstruction to the navigable capacity of the Rio Grande River and required authorization from Congress," Senior U.S. Judge David Alan Ezra says in his order.

In a statement Wednesday, Abbott said the state will appeal the ruling.

"Today's court decision merely prolongs President Biden’s willful refusal to acknowledge that Texas is rightfully stepping up to do the job that he should have been doing all along," the governor said on X, formerly known as Twitter. "This ruling is incorrect and will be overturned on appeal."

TWR:  Over the years, I developed a term of art used to describe certain Jurists…“Idiot Legalist Savant”.

Which is defined as “Someone who would have no idea what to do, unless it was written down in a book.”

With this decision, Judge Ezra risks permanent membership in this au(dis)gust(ing) group.

The Border must be closed. By any means required. 

There are at least 70,601 reasons why…That number represents the latest Death Toll Data from Americans dying of Fentanyl poisoning.

But no…Why? 

In my analysis… There are only four reasons why Judge Ezra would make this decision:

1)   He has an interest in, or is a consumer of illegal drugs.

2)   He has an interest in, or is a consumer of the illegal sex trade.

3)   He has an interest in, or is a financier/facilitator of Human Smuggling; which includes the illegal importation of Terrorists, Foreign Military Aged Males, Cartel Operators, or Transnational Criminal Gang personnel.  Or,

4)   He is on a Cartel payroll.

Which reason do you believe is true?

NYC MAYOR PREDICTS GOTHAM CITY DOOM

FOX NEWS:

New York City Mayor Eric Adams gave his most ominous prediction yet for the fate of the Big Apple, which is grappling with the influx of more than 110,000 migrants so far. 

"Let me tell you something, New Yorkers. Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don't see an ending to this. I don't see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City," Adams said during a Town Hall meeting on the Upper West Side on Wednesday. "We're getting 10,000 migrants a month."

"We had a $12 billion deficit that we're going to have to cut. Every service in this city is going to be impacted. All of us," Adams said. "It's going to come to your neighborhoods. All of us are going to be impacted by this. I said it last year when we had 15,000. I'm telling you now with 110,000. The city we knew we're about to lose. And we're all in this together." 

Adams placed blamed on Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's operation busing migrants from the border to self-declared sanctuary jurisdictions. 

"What happened? Started with a mad man down in Texas, decided he wanted to bus people up to New York City," Adams said Wednesday.

TWR:  New York Politicians courted votes, enjoyed electoral success, even impressed their Leftist Political handlers by listing their home as a “Sanctuary City.” 

Therefore, open to “…Illegal Immigrants from anywhere just looking for a better life for themselves and their families.”

After drowning in unremitting, trampling hoards of illegals ignoring any US Law, any US Citizen’s property, anything beyond their dishonest pursuit, Texas Governor Greg Abbott began facilitating New York City’s invitation to these unfortunates…By sending 110-Thousand illegals to the NYC City Hall.

Suddenly, Mayor Adams realizes “…This issue will destroy New York City…Destroy New York City!!"

Welcome to Texas, Mr. Mayor…and to Florida…and Arizona…and New Mexico…In short, welcome to the ridiculous immigration mess you’ve created.

HARDLINE GOP HOUSE MEMBERS DEMAND CUTS BEFORE PASSING A CONTINUING RESOLUTION

When the House comes back into session next Tuesday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., has a daunting task ahead of him: wrangling his narrow four-seat GOP majority to pass a temporary spending bill – called a continuing resolution – to avoid a shutdown by Sept. 30. 

But McCarthy’s right flank from the House Freedom Caucus, a loose coalition of the most conservative lawmakers, have drawn hard lines on government spending.

The caucus took an official position in August, saying in a statement it will oppose any spending measure that fails to include more security on the southern border, end what the group alleges is “unprecedented weaponization” of the Department of Justice and take down “woke policies" in the Pentagon.

Those demands have virtually zero chance of passing the Democratic-controlled Senate or even passing with full GOP support in the House. If McCarthy can’t reconcile the differences between his right flank and more moderate members in the GOP conference, the government could be on the path towards a shutdown. 

TWR:  Like all other cases of completely predictable, political buffoonery, Beginning next Tuesday, the US Congress will have 11 Days to fashion a “CR”…“Continuing Resolution” to fund the Federal Government beyond September 30^th.

The only thing standing in the “Uniparty’s” way is The House Freedom Caucus.  Two things will happen:

1)   Either Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy will cave, acquiescing to the demands of the “adults in the room…”. Or, as

2)   The Freedom Caucus will cave to the Body Politic…Again.

It is my sincere hope that the former of these alternatives carries the day.  These political sociopaths need to be shown the realities of their insane fiscal delirium.

In short, as Rep Chip Roy, R-TX 21^st has said, “…shut the friggin’ government down.”

HURRICANE LEE FORMS IN THE ATLANTIC…HEADED TOWARD THE US

USA TODAY:

Hurricane Lee formed Wednesday afternoon far out in the Atlantic Ocean, the National Hurricane Center said, and it is "likely to intensify into an extremely dangerous major hurricane by early Saturday." But whether it will make landfall or blow out to sea remains a key question.

It's the fourth hurricane of the 2023 season. With a wind speed of 75 mph, the storm is now a Category 1 hurricane, and is expected to become a Category 4 hurricane, with winds approaching 150 mph, by the weekend.

Forecasters from the hurricane center were not predicting that winds would reach Category 5 strength, which is 157 mph. However, meteorologists from AccuWeather, for example, said Lee "is forecast to intensify rapidly into a powerful Category 5 hurricane" by the weekend.

TWR:  Mr. Lee looks like he’s going to be one tough customer…This storm could be the 2023 Hurricane Season’s first Category 5 Storm.  Keep your eyes on this one.  Hopefully, Lee will miss entering the Gulf of Mexico…

CDC ISSUES HEALTH ADVISORY FOR FLESH EATING BACTERIA

USA TODAY:

A health alert has been issued by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in response to recent reports of a fatal bacterial infection that thrives in warm coastal waters. 

The Vibrio vulnificus bacteria can be found in raw or undercooked seafood, saltwater, and brackish water. The most common way to become infected is when an open wound comes into contact with vibrio bacteria in water. 

At least a dozen people have died from the infection across the country this year.

As ocean waters continue to warm due to climate change, the Vibrio vulnificus is migrating north, studies have found.

"The warmer water is, the more bacteria can reproduce faster," researcher Gabby Barbarite at Florida Atlantic University's Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute in Fort Pierce, Florida told USA Today.

TWR:  The CDC has learned nothing from its disastrous handling of COVID-19.  The future of this agency rests only on protecting the Health of the American People, not the political manipulation of them through fear.

Here we have a “Health Alert!” from the CDC regarding the “Deadly Flesh-Eating” Vibrio Vulnificus bacteria.

The “Alert” goes on to say that “…At least a dozen people have died from the  infection across the country this year.

Now here’s the reality…11 people have died this year by being hit by lightning.  No “Health Alert!”

US MILITARY:

SENATORS WORRY NAVY WILL MISS SUB PRODUCTION GOALS

THE HILL:

Senators on the Foreign Relations Committee raised concerns that the U.S. fell short of its nuclear submarine target during a Wednesday morning hearing on a trilateral security partnership.

Australia, the United Kingdom and the U.S. struck the defense deal AUKUS in September 2021 and announced an arrangement for Australia to acquire “conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered” submarine capability through the partnership in March 2023.

As part of that agreement, Australia agreed to invest approximately $3 billion in the first four years of the agreement into U.S. shipbuilding.

“We are grateful that the Australians want to invest $3 billion,” Sen. Pete Ricketts (R-Neb.) said. “What are we gonna have to invest to get to 66 submarines?”

The U.S. Navy currently has 49 fast-attack submarines, which puts it 17 submarines short of the 66-vessel goal the military branch previously told Congress it needed to reach to properly defend the U.S.

TWR:  One of the reasons We American Taxpayers get ripped off by Defense Contractors is because of the so-called “Peace Dividend.” 

Based on that vaporous notion, the US Government allowed the already too small number of Defense Contractors to merge, intensifying their de facto monopolies.

While the AUKUS defense deal is a good thing, someone should have thought about the industrial infrastructure required to meet shipbuilding needs.

QUICK EXIT FROM MEDAL OF HONOR CEREMONY EXPLANATION DOESN’T FLY

FOX NEWS:

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s explanation for why President Biden left the previous day's Medal of Honor ceremony early didn’t go over well on social media Wednesday.

Reporters questioned Jean-Pierre on Biden leaving right after placing a medal on former U.S. Army Captain and Vietnam War veteran Larry Taylor but before the concluding prayer.

"He left as planned, as it was planned," Jean-Pierre told reporters. "He left when there was a pause in the program in order to minimize his close contact with attendees who are about to participate in a reception."

Users on "X," didn’t believe the explanation and mocked Jean-Pierre for attempting to spin the situation.

"Don’t lie," said conservative media personality Graham Allen.

"Biden was in close contact with people while maskless for the entire ceremony to that point. The way this press secretary continues to insult the intelligence of anyone above a 50 IQ is breathtaking," FOX News contributor Joe Concha wrote.

"So, Biden ‘very purposefully’ abandoned a Medal of Honor recipient on stage before the ceremony was over — meaning the situation was as bad, if not worse, than it looked?" Townhall.com managing editor Spencer Brown wondered.

TWR:  It happened again…Another blown public appearance by President Biden, another hackneyed explanation for it by Karine Jean-Pierre.

The Presentation of the Medal of Honor, the Nation’s Highest Military Decoration, is also one of the most revered and important US Military Ceremonies.  That’s why, whenever possible, the Ceremony is conducted by the Commander in Chief.

The Prayers; The Invocation & Benediction are intended to Thank God for the Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Airman, Coast Guardsman, or Guardian’s Act of Courage & Valor required to be awarded one.  You wait for the Benediction.  Period.

Shame on President Biden for his Dereliction of Duty…Shame on Karine Jean-Pierre for trying to normalize it.

POLITICS:

CHAIRMAN COMER REPEATS CALL TO NATIONAL ARCHIVES FOR HUNTER EMAILS

FOX NEWS:

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., repeated his call for National Archives and Records Administration (NARA} to release to Congress an unredacted copy of emails and documents purporting to show then-Vice President Joe Biden's office colluding with the Biden family and its business associates, saying he believes there are more documents in NARA's hands than originally believed. 

"There's more evidence of more meetings where Hunter was told that they needed to call Washington for help. We've had Devon Archer testify and say that there's evidence that points that the Burisma executives were squeezing Hunter Biden to call Washington for help.

So we know that Hunter Biden was communicating with the White House," he told "The Ingraham Angle" Wednesday.

 "[We] believe there are more [documents] that the Archives are sitting on [showing] the Hunter Biden legal team, the Hunter Biden PR people, Hunter Biden's shady characters who were paying him were communicating through him to his father back-and-forth."

In a December 4, 2015 missive, then-Hunter Biden business associate Eric Schwerin wrote to Kate Bedingfield – then Joe Biden's communications director – with quotations to use from Hunter about his work with the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma. 

"VP signed off on this," Bedingfield replied.

TWR:  The House Committee Investigators are doing very, very well.  These email interactions could very well be “nailing the coffin shut” on this alleged Biden Family Corruption.

The Administration’s strategy of simply remaining silent on this ever-growing pile of documented malign behavior adds more and more weight to these accusations.

There are only two possibilities:

1.)  President Biden is Not Guilty…If that’s the case, open everything for investigation and wait for public vindication.

2.) President Biden is Guilty… If that’s the case, open everything for investigation and hope to make a deal to finish his term, then leave office.

HUNTER BIDEN SPECIAL COUNSEL TO SEEK INDICTMENT ON GUN CHARGE

FOX NEWS:

Hunter Biden is expected to be indicted on a federal gun charge by the end of September, Special Counsel David Weiss' team told U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika on Wednesday. 

The expected charges come after an original plea agreement collapsed in July. Hunter Biden was expected to plead guilty in July to two misdemeanor tax counts of willful failure to pay federal income tax as part of a plea deal to avoid jail time on a felony gun charge.

Hunter Biden was then forced to plead not guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges and one felony gun charge.

Weiss, the U.S. attorney for Delaware, has been leading the Hunter Biden investigation for years.

His appointment as special counsel comes amid allegations of politicization impacting prosecutorial decisions in the yearslong investigation into the president’s son.

TWR:  All of this stinks to high heaven…

First, Weiss comes up with the Mother of all Sweetheart Deals to exonerate Hunter Biden from crimes both known and unknown.  This through back-door negotiations with the Defense Team.

After that deal blew up, Hunter was forced to make official pleas on the charges…So another plea bargain is out.

Now, embarrassed by IRS Whistleblower testimony, corroborated by a retired FBI Agent, Special Counsel Weiss has announced that an indictment on Federal Gun Charges is next.

Since sending Hunter to jail would likely be the end of President Biden’s political career, how will the DOJ and the Special Counsel take Hunter to court, nail him for tax evasion and a Firearms charge, then find a way to let him off with no jail time?

There is no clean scenario…For anyone.

STATES:

TEXAS—AG  PAXTON IMPEACHMENT SO FAR

TEXAS MONTHLY:

Paxton defense attorney Tony Buzbee’s questions and occasional editorial comments on testimony are trying to suggest that the impeachment proceeding has been orchestrated by a group of Republicans in Name Only, including Jeff Mateer, currently on the stand, and . . . former land commissioner George P. Bush.

In various instances, Buzbee has pushed Mateer, one of the staffers who blew the whistle on Paxton, to elaborate on the timeline of the whistleblower lawsuit and his communication with the attorney general about it.

Specifically, Buzbee is angling for an answer as to why the eight former aides didn’t tell Paxton that they went to the FBI until October 1, 2020—the same day, Buzbee noted, that Bush applied to reactivate his law license.

Bush is one of several Republicans who levied a primary challenge against Paxton in 2022. Paxton routed him in a runoff. Buzbee hasn’t said it directly, but it seems like he’s trying to get Mateer to admit, under oath, that the whistleblowers, Bush, and leadership-aligned groups such as Texans for Lawsuit Reform were trying to get Paxton out of office.

It’s unclear whether this argument will pass muster—especially because one doesn’t need a law license to serve as attorney general of Texas.

TWR:  Frankly, I was surprised by Texas Republicans impeaching AG Ken Paxton.

I just couldn’t figure out why someone so obviously innocent of wrongdoing, would be hammered by his fellow conservatives.

However, with yesterday’s review of the presented evidence, the spectre of this being political payback from the Bush Family Political Dynasty becomes more likely.

It is my sincere hope this is not the case…I have great regard for the Family of President George W. Bush, but if it turns out this political hit job against Ken Paxton is actually true…
