BREAKING NEWS:

ESCAPED KILLER CAPTURED IN PENNSYLVANIA

FOX NEWS:

Danelo Cavalcante has been captured alive in Pennsylvania after he escaped from Chester County Prison and eluded authorities for nearly two weeks, state police announced Wednesday morning.

Swarms of heavily armed police were seen holding a perimeter in the South Coventry Township area late Tuesday. It was unclear where law enforcement ultimately pinned down the fugitive.

State police and U.S. Border Patrol caught Cavalcante near the home where he stole a .22-caliber rifle with a scope and ammunition from an open garage on Monday night, a law enforcement source told Fox News.

TWR:  One of the curious things about sending someone to prison to serve a sentence of ‘Life without the possibility of parole…’ is they have nothing to lose. 

Inmate Cavalcante will now likely have years added to his sentence for this escape…

…So what? 

If he has another chance to escape, he will…Endangering the populace again.  Just like he did this time. 

IMPEACHMENT:

HOUSE REPUBLICANS OPEN PRESIDENTIAL IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY

USA TODAY:

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., announced that the House will open a formal impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden, escalating a Republican investigation that started in January when the GOP took majority control of the lower chamber.

The House Oversight, Judiciary and Ways and Means committees will lead the inquiry after months of investigating Biden, whom Republicans say benefited from his son Hunter Biden's business dealings.

"Today I am directing our House committee to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden," McCarthy said at a news conference Tuesday. "This logical next stop will give our committees the full power to gather all the facts and answers for the American public."

TWR:  As we reported before, the circle around the Biden Family is tightening.

ECONOMY:

CPI; INFLATION UP IN AUGUST

WASHINGTON EXAMINER:

Inflation increased to a 3.7% rate for the year ending in August, the second such increase after a full year of declines.

The uptick, reported on Wednesday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics in an update to the consumer price index, is some bad news for President Joe Biden, who has been trying to reassure voters that he is curbing price pressures, and for the Federal Reserve, which has desperately maneuvered to bring down inflation over the past year.

On a month-to-month basis, inflation rose 0.6%, in line with expectations.

It is important to note that the major factor driving up the headline number was gasoline prices. Gas prices rose last month and thus accounted for more than half of the headline increase.

Gasoline prices rose more than 10% from just July to August alone, pushing the overall CPI higher.

TWR:  When President Biden took office, he made 2 concurrent moves that, have led this economy to where we find it today…

·      He signed the 1.9 Trillion Dollar COVID Recovery Act, juicing an already over-funded economy with more liquid than it could absorb.  And,

·      He both curtailed US Oil & Gas production, while selling the energy surplus left by his predecessor on the open market.

The economy would have, more or less, handled either of these moves separately.  But made together, created a scenario that could have crashed the entire economy. 

As it was, Inflation peaked at 9.1%...Had the Fed not acted immediately; raising the Federal Funds Rate 3.0% in 5 months, the outcome could have been disastrous.

When too much money is available for existing goods and services, prices rise…The effect of a “juiced” economy…

When America’s energy supply drops, on purpose in this case, with demand being constant, Gasoline prices spike…Creating a huge jump in transportation costs…Driving prices up as well…A perfect storm.

Now, energy costs remain high due to continued artificially constrained supply…With the summer driving season in full force, gas prices spike again…So does the CPI…

Regardless of your politics, the takeaway is this…Our current economy is the result of Political Calculation…In other words, our government made choices, based not on reality, but politics.

This is a self-inflicted wound.

FORD CEO LIKES 3RD CONTRACT OFFER, UAW NOT SO MUCH

Ford CEO Jim Farley said late Tuesday that the Dearborn automaker has made its third labor contract offer to the UAW in hopes of avoiding a strike at 11:59 p.m. Thursday.

"Both sides are looking for a deal. We don’t have one yet. We put in a huge offer today," Farley told the Free Press. "It’ll be the most lucrative offer in the 80-year history of the UAW and Ford."

Ford was the first to submit a counteroffer to the UAW, which earned praise publicly from UAW President Shawn Fain.

An estimated 150,000 autoworkers are represented by the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America based in Detroit, known simply as the United Auto Workers.

SPEAKER MCCARTHY ‘UNDER THE GUN’ OVER SPENDING FIGHT

NY TIMES:

Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s job is on the line as the House returns on Tuesday to confront a funding impasse that could lead to a government shutdown or a challenge to the California Republican’s hold on the top post in the House.

Far-right Republicans are refusing to back a measure to keep the federal government funded past Sept. 30 without substantial spending cuts and stringent new border policies that stand little chance of becoming law. They are also threatening to depose Mr. McCarthy should he turn to Democrats for assistance in scrounging together the votes he needs to avoid a shutdown.

Intensifying the pressure, Representative Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican and frequent critic of the speaker, delivered a floor speech last night outlining the arch-conservative case against Mr. McCarthy, laying the groundwork for a potential move to oust him.

The criticism was to cover what Mr. Gaetz and others see as Mr. McCarthy’s failure to live up to promises he made to win the speakership, including his handling of the budget process and continuing investigations of President Biden and his family.

TWR:  Matt Gaetz appears to be a serious player. 

I say “appear to be” because Representative Gaetz is a Republican…A Party very good at appearance, but very bad on follow through. 

So bad in fact, one Republican (Gaetz) is calling out another (McCarthy) for that very behavior.

It took 15 votes to install Speaker McCarthy into “the chair”.  To get that last winning vote, he agreed to the things he’s being called out on…

The Speaker must comply with those promises, or he should vacate the chair voluntarily.

WHITE HOUSE ACCUSES GOP OF BREAKING BUDGET AGREEMENT

THE HILL:

The White House on Tuesday went on offense against House Republicans, accusing them of breaking an agreement reached during debt ceiling negotiations and pushing budget cuts that would harm the economy and families.

Shalanda Young, director of the Office of Management and Budget, wrote in a memo that while the White House, House Democrats and senators in both parties have stood by the contours of the agreement brokered in May, House Republicans have instead pursued more partisan budget bills.

“Their appropriations bills violate the bipartisan budget agreement and instead push the same deep cuts the House Freedom Caucus has been demanding since the start of this year,” Young wrote in a memo to interested parties.

Young’s memo cited various programs that would face cuts if House GOP budget bills were enacted, including “…funding for law enforcement, slash funding for schools with low-income students, raise housing costs, undermine government efforts to reduce lead exposure and pollution and reduce support for teachers.” Young wrote.

The White House and top House Republicans reached a deal in May to lift the debt ceiling for two years and apply new caps on federal spending over the same duration.

TWR:  Politics…Impure & simple. 

Our National Debt just crossed 3.8-Trillion Dollars.  Anyone, regardless of Party, should be appalled at that number, let alone that reality.  And they should do something to remediate it.  Immediately.

As for the faux outrage claimed by Democrats over the Republicans not honoring a deal made last May, please re-read the paragraph above…

No deal that adds to 3.8-Trillion Dollars is already null & void…Not by Politics, but by Reality.

NEWLY DISCOVERED INTERNAL EMAIL DESCRIBES BORDER PATROL STRATEGY TO MANAGE ILLEGAL MIGRANT INFLUX

Border Patrol leadership last month set daily migrant release targets for its sectors in order to keep escalating numbers of migrants in custody at a "manageable" level -- including potentially increasing releases into the U.S. interior -- as agents continue to see a rise in numbers at the southern border.

An internal Aug. 8 email from an acting deputy chief to Border Patrol field chiefs and deputies says that sectors are facing an influx that is outpacing the numbers of migrants being either released or transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for removal.

The email, obtained by Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody’s office, says daily encounters "[continue] to surpass the daily permanent bookouts and the in-custody numbers continue to rise creating significant risks to agents and detainees."

"We respectfully request that you urgently use these bookout targets to formalize your daily processing pathway plans, to include transitioning to NTA/OR when consequence pathways are not sufficient."

Having served 2 military tours on the Texas/Mexico Border, I can attest that America’s Border Patrol is in an impossible situation… 

…Not one of their own making, one that has been imposed on them by Washington Politicians.

In an effort to escape unfair coverage from the Media, while at the same time attempting to avoid hypocritical abuse by those same politicians…Emails like this get written. 

Yes, the flood of Migrants overwhelms the facilities available to house them…So the only thing CBP can do is release them into the US. 

The solution is for a new political class to create a path to American Citizenship…Not for the World’s poor…But for the World’s best.

TEXAS—NEW LAW MANDATES ARMED SECURITY OFFICER IN EVERY SCHOOL

FOX NEWS:

Texas lawmakers quietly passed a sweeping mandate for school safety measures, including a requirement to post an armed security officer at every school and provide mental health training for certain district employees.

Texas House Bill 3, which was signed into law June 14 by Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, went into effect on Sept. 1, and comes in the wake of the horrific Uvalde school shooting that killed 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in May 2022. 

In the bill, each school district campus is required to armed security guard which includes: a school district peace officer; a school resource officer; a commissioned peace officer employee; a school marshal; or a school district employee who has completed school safety training and carries a handgun on their person on school premises.

TWR:  As soon as a few of these deranged would-be Child-Killers get blown to Mars attempting their evil…They will stop.

Texas recognizes that…Other states would rather chase Anti-American totalitarian politics, than keep their Children safe.

OREGON--NATION’S ‘MOST EXTREME GUN LAW’ HEADS TO COURT

An Oregon law dubbed the nation's "most extreme" gun control measure heads to trial next week in a case that has drawn close attention from firearm advocates and opponents.

"This case is about a bare majority of voters passing a poorly-written ballot measure that erodes, and I would say erases, a constitutional right," added attorney Tony Aiello Jr. told Fox News.

Aiello, represents a pair of Harney County gun owners challenging Measure 114 under the Oregon Constitution.

Oregonians passed Measure 114 last November with 50.65% of the vote, with voters in just six of the state's 36 counties supporting it.

The law, which groups like the NRA's legislative arm deem "the nation's most extreme gun control Initiative," requires a permit to purchase any gun and bans the sale of magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds.

Gun sales surged after the measure passed late last year, with Oregon State Police fielding thousands of new background check requests each day.

TWR:  The absurdity of Politics…

If you pass a law against something, and people run over each other in an attempt to circumvent that law before it takes effect…You passed the wrong law.

KIM JONG UN & VLADIMIR PUTIN MEET

USA TODAY:

North Korea's Kim Jong Un told Russian President Vladimir Putin that his country would always stand by Moscow as it defends its security interests on the "anti-imperialist front," as the two authoritarian leaders met at a space base and adjoining rocket facility in a far-flung corner of eastern Russia on Wednesday.

Kim and Putin's face-to-face talks, at the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Siberia, lasted four to five hours, according to Russian state media, which has been publishing some of their remarks addressed to reporters.

The talks provide an opportunity for Russia to obtain desperately needed arms − and for Kim to appear on a global stage after years of suffocating international sanctions.

"A fierce standoff is underway ... between progress and reactionism, between justice and injustice," Kim said at a luncheon hosted by Putin, who Kim called "Comrade Putin." "The process of a multipolar world is actively developing thanks to the common will and joint strength of independent forces."

DELTA FLIGHT DIVERTS TO THE AZORES OVER OXYGEN PROBLEM

USA TODAY:

Passengers were left more or less in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean Friday into Saturday when a Delta Air Lines flight from Accra, Ghana, to New York was forced to divert to Lajes Airport on Terceira Island in the Azores.

“Delta flight 157 from Accra to New York-JFK diverted to Lajes Airport following a mechanical issue with a backup oxygen system. The crew descended to a lower altitude out of an abundance of caution during the diversion and the aircraft landed safely.”

Drake Castaneda, a Delta spokesperson, told USA TODAY in a statement. “An alternate aircraft was dispatched from Lisbon to help our customers more quickly get to their final destinations while the original aircraft was repaired by maintenance technicians. We apologize to our customers for the delay in their travels.”

TWR:  When you consider the incredible number of flights being undertaken by hundreds of thousands of passengers, on thousands of Aircraft…All around the World…Every Day…It’s amazing there are as few incidents involving air travel as there are.

FORMER SECRET SERVICE AGENT RECANTS ASSASSINATION TESTIMONY  

FOX NEWS:

A former Secret Service agent who witnessed the assassination of President John F. Kennedy has broken his silence about the event and is now casting doubt on findings from the commission that investigated the president’s death.

Landis’ said his newfound skepticism results from discrepancies between the Warren Commission and his own experiences on the day Kennedy was shot in the head and killed while riding inside a Lincoln Continental convertible through Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963.

The Warren Commission, after an investigation, found no evidence that Oswald or Oswald's assassin, Jack Ruby, were part of any conspiracy, domestic or foreign, to kill the president.

They stated at the time that one bullet that struck Kennedy passed through him and struck then-Texas Gov. John Connally, hitting his back, thigh, chest and wrist, which became the "magic bullet theory."

Their conclusion was based on a bullet found on a stretcher that carried Connally as he was transported around Parkland Memorial Hospital after the attack.

However, Landis told the New York Times that he initially discovered the bullet found on the stretcher. He recalled that the bullet was lodged in the limousine seat behind where Kennedy was seated after the president was brought to the hospital.

TWR:  There are a couple of things here…

First…If this recanted testimony is true, We the People have been lied to for 60 years…Including lies told by this same Secret Service Agent.

Second…Paul Landis is hyping a book.  So, is his new story believable?

Now…The “Magic Bullet Theory” has always required suspension of disbelief…

The Late Arlen Spector, the man who first postulated it, grounded his theory on a (mostly) pristine bullet found on the hospital gurney of Texas Governor John Connally…A bullet that ostensibly fell out of Connally’s body.

If this new rendition is true…The “Magic Bullet Theory” disappears.

If that theory disappears…So does the “Lone Gunman Theory”.

If the “Lone Gunman Theory” disappears…

The Conspiracy Theory…Appears.
