AG MERRICK GARLAND TO TESTIFY BEFORE THE HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE
CNN:
Attorney General Merrick Garland is expected to forcefully rebuke congressional Republicans who have accused the Justice Department of political bias, according to excerpts of his prepared testimony to be delivered at a House Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday.
“I am not the President’s lawyer,” Garland is expected to say, according to the excerpts obtained by CNN. “I will also add that I am not Congress’s prosecutor. The Justice Department works for the American people.”
He will say that the Justice Department’s job is “to pursue justice, without fear or favor” and not to “do what is politically convenient” or “take orders from the President, from Congress, or from anyone else about who or what to criminally investigate.”
Garland will deliver the statement as he faces vitriol from Republicans, who accuse him of failing to protect the department from politicization, and dissatisfaction from Democrats, who say the department has been too timid in going after former President Donald Trump.
TWR: Much has been reported about America’s 2-tier Legal System.
Many charges have been levelled against Merrick Garland and the DOJ for making prosecutorial decisions based on politics.
The FBI has been caught red-handed violating the Constitutional Rights of Parents, Catholics, those against Leftist Political orthodoxy.

HUNTER BIDEN WILL PLEAD NOT GUILTY TO GUN CHARGES
USA TODAY:
Hunter Biden plans to plead not guilty to federal gun charges and is asking that his initial court appearance be held by video conference so that he won't have to travel to Wilmington, Delaware, a request that the government opposed.
U.S. Magistrate Christopher Burke asked both sides to file written arguments about a video hearing. The government is scheduled to respond today. The initial hearing hasn't been scheduled yet.
Congressional Republicans have attacked the charges against Hunter Biden and the handling of his investigation as a "sweetheart deal" because his father is President Joe Biden.
Being treated differently from typical defendants for a court appearance could also raise complaints of favoritism by David Weiss, the U.S. attorney in Delaware who was appointed special counsel.
TWR: This was expected.
What wasn’t expected by me is that in today’s news, a movement now exists to overturn one of the laws Hunter Biden is charged with in Federal Court.
Really?

JEFF MAROOTIAN APPOINTED TO DOE POSITION
FOX NEWS:
The Department of Energy (DOE) quietly promoted a top adviser to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm to a senior role overseeing home appliance regulations after he failed to clear Senate confirmation.
The DOE announced last week that Jeff Marootian was appointed to be the principal deputy assistant secretary of the agency's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). The appointment came days after the White House withdrew his name from consideration to lead EERE as the office's assistant secretary.
While Marootian's nomination failed after Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Chair Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., opposed him over the Biden administration's crackdown on natural gas-powered stovetops, his appointment last week makes him the effective chief of the DOE's EERE office.
TWR: During his failed Senate Confirmation Hearing, Senator John Barasso called Jeff Marootian, “…an unelected, unaccountable, and unconfirmed bureaucrat who is carrying out President Biden’s orders to attack affordable household appliances.”
As you might expect, President Biden withdrew Marootian’s nomination.
Then in what has been called ‘a middle finger to the United States Senate,’ the President has now appointed Marootian to a senior Department of Energy post that overseeing home appliance regulations.
DEMOCRATS & REPUBLICANS WORKING TO CIRCUMVENT MCCARTHY, RIGHT
USA TODAY:
As House Republicans remain engulfed by infighting and appear to be no closer to avoiding a government shutdown than they were weeks ago, House Democrats have started to quietly step up in the shutdown fight.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., and House GOP leadership are working to garner support among lawmakers for a short-term stopgap funding measure – called a continuing resolution – negotiated by centrist and conservative GOP lawmakers.
But House Democrats have begun discussions with other moderate Republicans on a fallback plan if the stopgap bill falls through.
A bipartisan coalition of lawmakers could bypass standard procedure and force a vote on a spending bill on the House floor if 218 members approve a measure called a discharge petition. That would effectively sidestep McCarthy and the House's right flank, which has called for hardline spending cuts.
TWR: The Government Budget Deficit is 1.5 Trillion, with another month to go in the fiscal year.
The credit ratings firm Fitch Ratings has downgraded America’s Credit Rating based on National Debt and federal budget brinksmanship.
US Taxpayer Dollars are being sent to fund the war (and oligarchs) in Ukraine, instead of the burned out citizens of Lahaina, Hawaii…Who got 7-hundred dollars…Less than the cost of one night’s lodging for FEMA/DHS Personnel staying in Maui Luxury hotels.
Who’s standing up for doing something about this malfeasance?

ECONOMY:
NATIONAL DEBT HITS 33-TRILLION DOLLARS
CNN BIZ:
As the US national debt passes $33 trillion and a government shutdown looms, Wall Street feels defensive.
That shutdown could sour sentiment and deal a blow to an economy already dealing with high gas prices, autoworker strikes and elevated inflation — with some saying it could even increase the possibility of a recession.
Fitch Ratings downgraded US sovereign debt from AAA to AA+ in August, citing the nation’s mounting debt and partisan brinkmanship as the major reasons behind its decision.
The gross national debt has grown at an alarming pace since then — by $1 trillion in the last three months alone.
Political finger pointing around what caused the accelerated debt accrual, meanwhile, has left the government at an impasse around the budget.
The budget deficit — the difference between what the government spends and what it takes in — reached $1.5 trillion for the first 11 months of the fiscal year, an increase of 61% since last year.
TWR: Quite simply, this is the biggest case of government embezzlement in the entire history of the Human Endeavor.

SENATOR KENNEDY, R-LA, READS ‘GENDER QUEER’ DURING HEARING
FOX NEWS:
Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., read from several explicit books found in public schools around the country last Tuesday.
One of the titles was Kobabe's "Gender Queer," a graphic novel that has caused controversy among parents and criticized for its depictions of sex acts as well as discussions of masturbation.
It was the most banned book in 2021, according to the American Library Association.
"Gender Queer" author Maia Kobabe reacted to a Republican senator reading a sexually explicit passage from the book during a Senate hearing, saying that the book it isn't recommended for "kids."
Kobabe responded, "It keeps being called a children’s book. Senator Kennedy implied it was a children’s book. But I think that’s coming from a misreading of the comic book form.”
“I originally wrote it for my parents, and then for older teens who were already asking these questions about themselves. I don’t recommend this book for kids."
TWR: Why are books like this in our Children’s Public School Libraries?
Who made it possible for them to be in there in the first place?
Who’s responsible for allowing them to stay there?

MICHIGAN—HAMTRAMCK CITY COUNCIL DEFENDS REMOVAL OF PRIDE FLAG
FOX NEWS:
Hamtramck Mayor Amer Ghalib defended his city council’s decision to bar Pride flags along with others from public property after facing backlash from the LGBTQ community.
The Hamtramck City Council unanimously voted in June to ban "any religious, ethnic, racial, political, or sexual orientation group flags."
Only five flags are now allowed on public property: the U.S. flag, the Michigan flag, the Hamtramck flag, the Prisoner of War flag and a unique flag representing the nations from which many Hamtramck citizens hail from.
In a statement to FOX News, Mayor Ghalib argued that the decision was not focused on banning the Pride flag but rather on offering a neutral stance on political issues.
"The city council decided to stay neutral on such controversial issues. Public spaces and city properties are shared spaces among all residents and should not be used by special interest groups to promote their agenda.”
“We just specified which flags to be allowed to fly on city properties: US flag, State, city and POW flags are allowed. Everything else is not. No other group complained except the LGBT, because everyone believes it's fair and just decision.”
Ghalib’s comments referred to backlash from the LGBTQ community with some feeling betrayed by the all-Muslim Hamtramck City Council, in a city where approximately 40% of residents were born in foreign countries.
TWR: At the end of all of this, the Hamtramck City Council voted against a flag that celebrates private sexual activity.
Why is that cause for “backlash” from anyone?

An illegal immigrant from Peru has been charged with murder after being arrested by police in Texas.
Maverick County Sheriff's Office confirmed that 64-year-old Roberto Emilio Vasquez-Santamaria was arrested in connection to a homicide that happened Monday in Eagle Pass.
According to multiple U.S. Customs and Border Protection sources, Fox News Digital has learned that Vasquez-Santamaria crossed illegally into Texas in May, and was released into the U.S. with a court date in 2025.
Sources said that the migrant was processed by Border Patrol after promising, in writing, to appear in court for upcoming proceedings.
After signing the notice to appear on own recognizance, Vasquez-Santamaria was transferred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

NEW YORK—THE TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN OFFERS TO TAKE STATUARY ‘WOKE’ NYC POLITICIANS WANT TO REMOVE

A town on Long Island said it would take any unwanted statues of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson or Christopher Columbus amid a push by "woke" New York City officials to have them removed from public display due to alleged ties with slavery and the mistreatment of Native Americans.
The town supervisor for Brookhaven, about 70 miles east of Manhattan in Suffolk County, said town officials would cover the cost of dismantling and shipping them.
"You know, I didn’t want to comment on whether that was right or wrong because that’s a decision of the city. But I said, ‘If you’re going to do that, hey, we’ll take the statues,’" Town Supervisor Edward Romaine told The New York Post on Tuesday.
"We look at their accomplishments, what they did for their time and how they contributed to the long arc of history," he added of the historical figures. "And we would welcome having those statues."

TIM BALLARD REFUTES SEXUAL MISCONDUCT CHARGES
USA TODAY:
Tim Ballard, the former federal agent who took on child sex-trafficking and inspired the movie "Sound of Freedom," has denied a report he left his Operation Underground Railroad organization amid multiple claims of sexual misconduct.
On Monday, Vice reported that Ballard, the group's founder, resigned three months ago after an internal investigation into allegations involving seven women.
“As with all of the assaults on my character and integrity over many years, the latest tabloid-driven sexual allegations are false," Ballard said in a statement sent to USA TODAY by The Spear Fund, an anti-human trafficking group. "They are baseless inventions designed to destroy me and the movement we have built to end the trafficking and exploitation of vulnerable children."
Sources who asked to remain anonymous “because they fear retaliation” told Vice that Ballard invited female employees to act as his “wife” on undercover overseas missions aimed at rescuing young victims of sex trafficking. Ballard would coerce the women into sharing a bed or showering together, claiming that that was necessary to fool traffickers, Vice reported.
COMEDIAN RUSSELL BRAND ACCUSED OF RAPE, SEXUAL MISCONDUCT
NY TIMES:
Russell Brand has been accused by four women of sexual assault. The allegations were made public after an investigation by three media outlets.
The investigation was a collaboration by The Sunday Times and The Times of London newspapers, and BBC Channel 4 Dispatches, a television program that broadcast a documentary about the allegations last Saturday.
They reported that the women had accused him of sexual assault in a series of incidents between 2006 and 2013.
Brand, in a video clip posted on social media, denied what he called the “serious criminal allegations” that came out in that investigation and said his past sexual encounters had all been consensual.
TWR: There’s no way for a heterosexual male to defend himself against accusations of “Sexual Misconduct.” None.
Even worse, there’s no Due Process of Law available either. A straight male accused of this is “guilty until proven innocent.”
Why do we keep seeing this? 2 reasons:

BRIDE LEAVES HUSBAND ON WEDDING DAY BECAUSE OF CAKE SMASH

The bride, who claims to be 27, turned to Reddit Advice Column where users vote on who’s to blame in a civil dispute.
The bride asked if she was wrong for abruptly leaving her wedding after her husband smashed cake in her face in front of all of their guests.
She wrote that she knew her husband found "cake smashing videos" funny and asked him to not do that to her because she’s not fond of the tradition.
She also wrote that her family "does the cake smashing thing," and at the age of 17, her mother shoved her face into her birthday cake.
"I told him if he ever did something like that to me I'd leave him," the bride wrote regarding her husband. "He started laughing but I was being for real."
TWR: My handsome, straight 6’ 2” Blonde 24 year-old son doesn’t date.
